If you always have panic attacks regardless of your mood, then you may have a comorbid panic disorder. Even if that's it, if they are much worse now and you are sleeping less with other signs of hypomania, it may be a sign that you are not stable. In any case, talk to you doctor. If this has picked up a lot recently, then call and get an appt sooner than later. No point dealing with it longer than necessary.
References :

Re: Can anxiety and panic attacks be a symptom of bipolar?

Sometimes. I was diagnosed as bipolar and in stressful times and depending on mood would sometimes suffer anxiety and panic, which was made worse by being on the wrong medication for awhile.
You should see a doctor though, it is something you can work to handle and overcome and make life tons easier and better. Best of luck.
References :

Re: Can anxiety and panic attacks be a symptom of bipolar?

Not necessarily. We do feel anxiety and/or panic sometimes...... But every time, every day while definetely indicating some anxiety disorder does not necessarily mean you are bipolar. In bipolar you will have an 'up' of frenzy of working, doing some thing, singing, cleaning, baking, cooking, etc. while when you come 'down' it will be all depression, lethargy, sleepiness, lying in bed all day. Do not substitute just plain laziness to the 'down' phase. While elements of this can be found in other disorders, there are clear cut differences in diagnoses. You should not come to conclusions. Best leave it to the experts.
References :

Re: Can anxiety and panic attacks be a symptom of bipolar?

Go to the doctor, rather than here.. I think there has to be other symptoms along with these to make it bipolar.

I know you are finding it hard right now and I hope the doctor listens to you properly sorts you out with the correct medication.

:-)))
References :

Re: Can anxiety and panic attacks be a symptom of bipolar?

yes it can be
References :

Re: Can anxiety and panic attacks be a symptom of bipolar?

Anxiety and panic attacks are not a symptom of bipolar disorder. Totally different. Takj to your doc about it.

I don't know why everyone assumes they're bipolar. It's not fun or cool.
References :

Re: Can anxiety and panic attacks be a symptom of bipolar?

no its not its either u have a high stress level or u get scared about things to fast like my sister she makes a big deal of staying home alone at night like come on its your own house. sry about saying that but anyway those are some reasons u can have a high stress level or u get scared of things to easy.
References :

Re: Can anxiety and panic attacks be a symptom of bipolar?

That doesn't sound like bipolar disorder. The only circumstance where that could happen would be if you have panic attacks or show anxiety then get over them and feel completely normal then have a panic attack again.
References :

Re: Can anxiety and panic attacks be a symptom of bipolar?

No, they're not a symptom of bipolar.
