Best Panic attacks treatment: flying fear?

dont worry about flying. You just have some jitters, and you will be fine. Maybe think about taking a low dose sleeping pill to get you through the flight. You cant worry about things while you are sleeping.

Dramamine, Valume, Or try a sleeping pill for the flight. Flying is safer than driving your car. Its all in your head. If you get on the plane and say this is going to be great, it will be. You are talking yourself into being afraid for no reason at all. Flying is very, very safe...... Enjoy it.

I was terrified of flying, as my parents live abroad I had no choice but to fly.
    I used this site:

    http://www.fearofflyinghelp.com/

Its free and explains EVERYTHING about the flight, noises, turbulence etc.
After doing this course..it took a couple of hours (I did it over a few days) I felt much calmer about it and although flying isn't my favourite form of travel, I can do it comfortably now without freaking out.

Do it...and enjoy ALL of your holiday xxx

talk to your doctor, talk about your problem, he may want to help by prescribing something to calm your nerves during the flight, an anti anxiety medication such as Valium. it'll help you sleep during the flight as well.

I suggest you try energy therapy. EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is a great drug free way to get over your fear of flying or any other fear or phobia. You can do it yourself.. download a free manual from the EFT site.

You can also find out more about energy therapy from these web sites. Good luck with your trip!

The take off and flight are the relatively safe parts of any journey in a plane. It is the landing that is the most dangerous, because if the plane hits the ground too hard, the undercarriage could collapse, leading the sparks igniting the fuel, and you all burning to death in the ensuing inferno.

It is essential you are well strapped in during the landing phase, because it makes it much easier for the clean-up guys to look through the windows and count and identify the charred remains without having to enter the cabin themselves.

The blood clots (deep vein thrombosis) you mention can affect anyone, and there really is no effective way of predicting who will suffer or how to stop it happening. The exercises put forward by airlines are largely ineffective, and in some cases have made the problem worse, as they force the clots to the brain faster than if they were not done.

    Hope this helps.

My partner is terrified of flying, she takes a mild sedative before flying which seems to help. As for avoiding DVT's you need to keep your legs active-either take a regular walk round the cabin of the aircraft (or if you are like my partner & wont get up out of your seat whilst flying) or do gentle leg exercises to keep the blood flowing in your legs properly, take an aspirin before the flight too for this as it thins the blood.

It's hard to explain, but don't worry about flying. The plane is in the hands of the airline workers, and they are trained to have control of the plane.

Hey, relax, you'll be just fine. I fly all the time. I used to get panic attacks to. You've already flown, that will help you the next time.
As for blood clots, not usually on a short flight as you aren't in your seat long. Some people will sit in their car longer going to an airport.
Go have a super holiday with your boyfriend. You are only young once, enjoy it.
