Chest pain during a panic attack is usually causes by muscles contracting in the chest wall. You probably don't even realize that your muscles are causing the pain. If you try to relax (I know, easier said than done), take some deep breaths and close your eyes, your chest pain should subside. Panic attacks are often mistaken for heart attacks, but rest assured, they are harmless. No one ever dies from a panic attack. I suffered from them for years and I can tell you that it gets better! After a while, you realize that you're not in any danger and you lose the fear of having an attack.

panic attacks cause a great amount of catecholamines such as adrenaline to be release to the blood stream.-
catecholamines cause the blood vessels to contract reducing the amount blood that goes thrwu them per time, which leads to less blood getting to your heart, and when your heart muscle gets less blood it suffers, causing the chest pain.-
also whem you're scared your heart beats faster, needing more blood to deliver the oxigen to do it, so the demands are higher at that moment, all this things added it's like a vicious circle.-

The chest pain you are feeling is coming from your head and not actual pain. Thats why it's called a panic attack. Your mind is making you think there is pain.
